Controversial rap artist Shebeshxt finds himself embroiled in a serious police investigation after he allegedly shoots another motorist in a road rage incident. The incident, which took place on a Polokwane street, has escalated into a full-blown attempted murder probe, sending shockwaves through his fanbase and the local community.
The evening of Tuesday, 19th October 2025, took a terrifying turn for two motorists whose paths crossed on a busy Polokwane road. According to police sources, an argument over poor driving escalated rapidly, with the individuals exchanging heated words from their vehicles.
The situation intensified when one of the drivers, alleged to be Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, pulled into a nearby petrol station. The other motorist followed him into the garage, where the confrontation reached its violent climax.

A source close to the investigation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the scene. “The motorist was rushed to a local hospital, where he is fighting for his life. He is apparently in the intensive care unit,” the insider revealed, confirming the gravity of the victim’s condition after being shot in the upper abdomen.
The matter was formally reported to the Westenburg Police Station, where a case of attempted murder was opened for investigation. By Thursday, the artist had been handed over to the authorities by his legal representatives and was formally detained. However, his time in custody was remarkably brief.
The source detailed the unexpected turn of events, stating, “They took the docket from the Westenburg Police Station and said the matter is being investigated by the murder and robbery unit, and that they would obtain a statement from Shebeshxt and the victim once investigations have been completed.” This intervention by detectives from the provincial headquarters led to the musician’s prompt release, a move that has incensed the victim’s family.
Family Fury and an Intensifying Probe
The decision to release the artist has left the victim’s relatives feeling utterly let down by the justice system. The insider confirmed the family’s distress, noting they are so incensed that they have threatened to take matters into their own hands if Shebeshxt is not rearrested and formally charged for his alleged actions. The source added a cautious note regarding the ongoing investigation, expressing a hope that if the artist was involved, he was acting in self-defence and that the firearm used was legally possessed.
