Politician and activist Linda Masarira has died, with family members confirming the tragic news on Sunday, 24 May 2026. The outspoken political figure’s death has shocked many Zimbabweans, with tributes already pouring in across social media.

In a statement shared online, DeMbare DotComs described Masarira as a committed supporter and political leader.
“We are deeply saddened to celebrate the life of the indomitable Linda Tsungirirai Masarira who transitioned to eternal rest in her sleep.”
The platform added:
“Linda was a stalwart and beloved Dynamos Bulawayo Chapter member before she embarked on a full-time political journey almost a decade ago, ultimately founding her own political party LEAD where she served as the President. May her legacy inspire us all, Rest in peace Linda.”
Masarira became well known for her outspoken political commentary and activism. Over the years, she remained active on social media and regularly weighed in on national issues.

Hurumende News Hub reported that a relative answered Masarira’s phone and confirmed her passing. The publication said details about the cause of death had not yet been made public.
