Controversial socialite and dancehall artist Millicent Tsitsi Chimonyo, popularly known as Malloti, has finally spoken out after appearing in court over allegations of cyberbullying controversial clergyman Passion Java.

Reports had suggested that Prophet Java had withdrawn the complaint, but court officials clarified that the case will continue until the withdrawal is formally processed. On Saturday evening (16 August 2025), Malloti took to Facebook to clear the air. She insisted that Java had not withdrawn the charges, claiming that he had asked her to issue a public apology first, a demand she refused.

In her post, Malloti wrote:

“Hakuna nyaya yaka withdrawewa, musanyeperwe, Yuwi hanzi Apologise ndi withdrawe nyaya🤣🤣🤣 musandijairire imi tosangana ku trial”

Allegations and Arrest

Prosecutors allege that in June this year, Malloti used social media to post content that harassed or caused emotional distress to Passion Java. The matter was reported to the police, leading to her arrest earlier this week.

Malloti’s lawyer, Dumisani Mthombeni, told the court that his client, who is pregnant and due soon, spent two nights in custody at Machipisa Police Station without being informed of the charges until the following morning. He also stressed the need for urgent medical monitoring due to her condition.

The charge against Malloti falls under Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act, which criminalises online harassment and cyberbullying. Depending on the severity, convictions can lead to fines, community service, or prison time.
