Miss World Zimbabwe Brunette Makanyiso’s Journey Ends After Top 12 Finish

Miss World Zimbabwe Brunette Makanaka Makanyiso has bowed out of the 73rd Miss World competition after securing a place among the Top 12 contestants.

Makanyiso’s campaign in Vietnam saw her make an impression in several challenges, including Beauty With a Purpose and Top Model.

However, she could not progress into the final Top 6.

Malaysia Secures Automatic Top 6 Spot

The decisive development came through the Beauty With a Purpose fast-track competition.

Miss World Malaysia won the fast-track challenge, securing an automatic place in the Top 6.

Her victory also earned her an opportunity to travel internationally with Miss World 2026 while promoting her Beauty With a Purpose initiative.

With that automatic qualification taken, Makanyiso’s campaign ended among the Top 12.

Zimbabwean Queen Makes Strong Showing

Although she fell short of the final six, Makanyiso’s performance represents a strong showing for Zimbabwe on the international stage.

She stood out during the Beauty With a Purpose challenge and also performed strongly in the Top Model competition.

Her run brought together several competitive challenges before the field was narrowed to the final contestants.

Dominican Republic Crowned Miss World 2026

The 73rd Miss World competition concluded with Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic taking the coveted crown.

Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés finished as the first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty was named second runner-up.

The six continental queens were also announced at the conclusion of the competition.

Reynés was crowned Miss World Europe, while Chetty took the Miss World Asia title.

South Africa’s Romanda Hombir was named Miss World Africa.

Brazil’s Gabriela Botelho emerged as Miss World Americas, while Georgia-Lee Gill of Trinidad and Tobago claimed Miss World Caribbean.

Tiare Henry-Anguna of the Cook Islands was named Miss World Oceania.
