X Repo Presenter Xolani Maphanga Hospitalized After Pool Accident at Home

Moja Love’s popular X Repo presenter, Xolani Maphanga, has been hospitalized after a fall at his home left him with a broken leg and a near-drowning scare.

Xolani Maphanga Nearly Drowns After Pool Accident at Home

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Xolani revealed that he fell into his pool, broke his left leg while performing household chores.

He struggled to stay afloat until his neighbour found him and called an ambulance, rushing him to hospital.

“I was at home alone. I tried to swim but it was hard because my leg was broken. I’m grateful to my neighbour because if it wasn’t for him I’d be dead. I could’ve drowned. He rescued me,” Xolani said.

Surgeries Underway, Recovery Expected to Take Weeks

Xolani underwent an operation on Sunday and is scheduled for another surgery on Thursday to insert steel in his broken foot. Doctors have indicated that he may be discharged on Sunday to continue healing at home, but cautioned that recovery remains uncertain.

“Maybe on Sunday they’ll discharge me to heal at home. These things are 50/50 — there’s no 100%. Doctors are promising I’ll be OK after tomorrow’s surgery,” he said.

X Repo Filming Put on Hold

Filming for X Repo has been temporarily paused, as doctors estimate it will take approximately nine weeks before Xolani can fully resume work.

“X is in injury. It depends on my healing process. I’m worried about the people I help. I change a lot of people’s lives. I love my job more than myself. I will go back even if [I’m on] crutches,” Xolani explained.

Dedication to Work Remains Strong

Despite the accident, Xolani remains focused on his mission to help others through his show.

“It’s not about me; it is about saving people. I get peace seeing people happy after they get help from me. Who will help the people? I wonder why I got hurt at home and not at work. The Lord works in mysterious ways. No matter what happens, I have to go back to work,” he said.
