Nollywood Star Mike Godson Smitten by Zimbabwean Women’s Beauty but Shocked by ‘100 Cattle Bride Price’
Nollywood star Mike Godson has been left captivated by the beauty of Zimbabwean women.
The actor, who visited Harare for the premiere of Lost In Ashes featuring Mai TT, expressed admiration for Zimbabwe women.
However, he revealed that the prospect of paying up to 100 cattle as lobola has him reconsidering marriage in Zimbabwe.
Beauty and Culture Captivate
In an interview with H-Metro, Godson expressed his admiration for Zimbabwean women, praising their beauty, warmth, and strength.
“Zimbabwean women are beautiful, warm, and strong. The people here are amazing. The energy, the love, the way they welcome you − I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ll definitely be back,” he said.
However, the actor admitted that local customs presented a major obstacle to his romantic ambitions: the traditional lobola.
100 Cattle: A Pricey Hurdle
Godson was taken aback by reports that marrying a Zimbabwean woman could involve handing over up to 100 cattle, a stark contrast to Nigeria, where bride price is a flat fee regardless of the bride’s background.
“But when I heard you can pay 100 cattle for just one wife, I thought, maybe, I should marry two and get a discount!” he joked. “Back home, whether she’s a princess or a regular girl, the bride price is the same. But here? One hundred cattle! That’s a whole farm!”
Fellow Nollywood actor Mike Ezuruonye, also visiting Zimbabwe, shared Godson’s amazement at the local beauty and culture, echoing his friend’s admiration for Zimbabwean women.

Mai TT, who stars in Lost In Ashes, clarified the situation. She reminded the visiting actors that lobola is not just about the number of cattle, but about respect, culture, and honoring family values.
