Rare Pictures Of VP Chiwenga’s Wife Rocking Camouflage Uniform In Public
Rare pictures of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s wife, Colonel Miniyathabo ‘Minnie’ Baloyi Chiwenga, wearing her camouflage uniform in public, have surfaced for the first time. The images were shared on Monday by government spokesperson and Permanent Secretary for Information, Nick Mangwana, during a major army event in Harare.
Nick Mangwana Shares Images
Nick Mangwana took to his official X account to reveal three photographs of Colonel Minnie Baloyi Chiwenga in full Zimbabwe National Army camouflage uniform. The images were taken at the Zimbabwe National Army Msasa Logistics Garrison Depot, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa handed over 102 vehicles to senior army officers.
Mangwana wrote:
“This morning, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces handed over a fleet of 102 staff vehicles to senior army officers at the ZNA Msasa Logistics Garrison Depot. #Vision2030”
The post quickly attracted attention online.
Bridging The Gap In Conditions Of Service
In a follow-up message, Mangwana highlighted the importance of the handover. He said:
“This initiative bridges a significant gap in the conditions of service for senior army officers, ensuring they receive their entitled benefits, including vehicles, ultimately enhancing their welfare and operational effectiveness within the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. #Vision2030”
The photographs showed Minnie Baloyi Chiwenga confidently dressed in her military uniform, standing among personnel from the Zimbabwe National Army and the Air Force of Zimbabwe.
A Rare Public Appearance In Uniform
While it has long been public knowledge that Colonel Minnie Baloyi Chiwenga is a career army officer, photographs of her in army camouflage uniform have rarely, if ever, been seen in the public domain. The images shared on 29 September mark one of the first glimpses of her in official military attire.
This stands in sharp contrast to the numerous pictures of her already in the public domain, where she is often seen dressed in stylish and elegant attire at public functions. Earlier this year, on 3 August 2025, she drew attention when she shared photographs of herself alongside former First Lady Grace Mugabe at Dr Mugabe’s 60th birthday celebration. At that event, Zimbabweans praised her refined appearance, with many describing the pair as “iconic” and “exquisite”.
The latest photographs, however, highlight a different side of the Second Lady — one that reflects her professional military role.
