Nurse Accused Of Promising Nursing School Places
Tshuma is accused of soliciting money from aspiring nurses and their families by claiming she could secure places at nursing institutions through her alleged connections at the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
Some complainants allege that she demanded up to US$1,500 from families hoping to enrol their children at nursing schools, particularly Brunapeg Mission in Mangwe District.
She is also accused of borrowing money from residents and colleagues using stories about sick parents as a reason for needing financial assistance.
The allegations have left several families claiming they lost money they had raised to finance their children’s nursing education.
Families Allegedly Sold Livestock To Raise Money
Some of the complainants reportedly sold goats and cattle to meet the payments they were allegedly asked to make in the hope of securing nursing training opportunities for their children.
Others claim that when they approached Tshuma to recover their money, she became hostile.
The allegations have prompted some of the people who say they were affected to join forces as they consider their next steps.
Alleged Victims Form WhatsApp Group
Some complainants have reportedly created a WhatsApp group named “Scammed by Eustina” to bring together their claims and discuss filing a police report.
The group is intended to help those who allege they lost money share information as they consider pursuing the matter with the authorities.
Tshuma’s suspension is pending investigations into the allegations. The claims against her have not been established as proven wrongdoing.
