Nine Schoolchildren Caught Drinking At Vuzu Party In Bulawayo
Police in Bulawayo have launched investigations after nine schoolchildren were found drinking alcohol at a suspected vuzu party in Bellevue.
The pupils, comprising five girls and four boys from two schools, were discovered at a house on 18 September after police received a tip-off from a concerned resident.

Teenagers Found At House
According to B-Metro, Bulawayo police deputy spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu said the girls included four aged 14 and one aged 16, while all four boys were 16 years old.
Police officers reportedly found the teenagers drinking alcohol when they arrived at the house, with some allegedly appearing intoxicated.
Some of the pupils also reportedly attempted to hide after noticing the police had arrived.

Alcohol Recovered
Police recovered two 750ml bottles of White Stone Gin during the operation.
One of the bottles was empty, while the other was almost half full. Officers also recovered an empty 750ml bottle of Stretton’s whisky.
Ndlovu said some of the pupils told police that the gathering had been organised by one of the students.
House Belonged To Relative
The house where the teenagers were found reportedly belongs to the uncle of one of the pupils.
The man was believed to be in South Africa at the time of the incident.
The case has raised renewed concerns over underage drinking and schoolchildren attending gatherings without adult supervision.
Police are continuing with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the gathering.
