Police Break Silence After Couple Found Dead In Glen View

Police have revealed what they are investigating after a Glen View couple was found dead in their bedroom on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. The deaths have raised questions about what happened inside the Harare home.

Nyasha Mhungu, 35, and his wife, Olga Muzhingi, 30, were found dead at their home in Glen View 3.

Police Investigate Reported Marital Dispute

National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the deaths and said investigators were looking into a possible dispute between the couple.

“They were found dead in their bedroom,” Nyathi said.

Police are also investigating a possible murder-suicide, although the circumstances surrounding the deaths had not been conclusively established as of 24 September 2026.

The investigation is expected to establish what happened before the couple were discovered.

Family Says Couple Had Marital Problems

Olga’s brother, Nebert Muzhingi, said the couple had been experiencing marital problems and that their families had recently become involved.

He said there had appeared to be no immediate indication of what was to come when he saw the couple earlier in the week.

“On Monday, I was with them and everything was okay. Little did I know there would be another flare-up,” he said.

The deaths come less than two weeks after another suspected domestic killing in Harare involving Midlands State University lecturer and Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission commissioner Martin Muduva.

Investigation Continues

Muduva, 42, was allegedly killed with an axe while sleeping at his home in Dzivarasekwa Extension on 9 September 2026. His wife, Lyliosa Chirara, 43, later died after reportedly consuming poison.

Police have not indicated that the two incidents are connected.

In the Glen View case, investigators are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The possible murder-suicide theory remains under investigation.
