President Mnangagwa Grants State-Assisted Funerals for Highlanders FC Officials Killed in Road Accident
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has granted State-assisted funerals to three Highlanders Football Club executive committee members who lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Gweru–Bulawayo Road.
The announcement was made by Speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, during a parliamentary capacity-building workshop held in Bulawayo on Saturday.

Three Executive Members Among Those Who Died in Thursday Tragedy
The beneficiaries are Highlanders FC chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, vice-chairman Fiso Siziba and treasurer Nkani Khoza.
The three officials were among four people who died when the vehicle they were travelling in reportedly struck a beast before the fatal accident occurred.
The group was returning from Kariba, where the club had played a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League away fixture on Thursday.

State-Assisted Funerals for Victims
The State-assisted funerals will cover the burial costs for the three executive members. The gesture is typically extended to individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation.
Details of the funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
ZIFA Donates US$10,000 to Support Affected Families
In a separate development, three Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board members in their personal capacity have donated US$10,000 to assist the families of the late Highlanders executives.
Of the total amount, US$1,000 was allocated to the family of Mbalenhle Sibanda, the late Highlanders supporter who also lost her life in the accident.
Meanwhile, ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi, accompanied by vice president Kennedy Ndebele, board member Brighton Ushendibaba and Premier Soccer League chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa, visited the homes of the deceased executives in Bulawayo to make the donation.
