Revealed! Olerato Mongale Murder Suspects Were Out On Bail For April Armed Robbery

It has been reveled that Olerato Mongale murder suspects were out on bail for an April armed robbery case when they committed the gruesome crime.

Olerato Mongale murder investigation has revealed that two of the three wanted suspects were apprehended in Brakpan on April 20, 2025 for an unrelated kidnapping and robbery case. Bongani Mthimkhulu and Philangenkosi Makhanya, both out on bail at the time, were reportedly caught mid-crime targeting a young woman.

Olerato Mongale Murder Suspects’ Previous Crimes

Local authorities confirmed the arrest occurred when police intercepted a VW Polo allegedly being used in the commission of the crime. The Brakpan Herald reported that despite the serious nature of the charges, both men were subsequently released on bail.

Victim’s Harrowing Account

The targeted woman, an employee at a nearby shopping centre, shared her terrifying experience with investigators. She revealed that one suspect had previously expressed romantic intentions toward her, which she had begun to reciprocate.

“During my lunch break, he invited me to join him and his companion,” the victim stated. “Once inside the vehicle, the situation turned violent. They demanded I hand over all my belongings and stole R500 in cash.”

While these arrests occurred separately from the Mongale case, authorities are examining possible connections between the incidents. Police officials have not yet confirmed whether the Brakpan charges will impact the pending murder investigation, which remains active.

Law enforcement sources indicate the manhunt for additional suspects continues as detectives work to build comprehensive cases against all individuals involved in these serious crimes.
