Proteas Top Earners and Their Salaries
Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, David Miller, and Kagiso Rabada rank among the highest-paid Proteas players. According to Cricbites, each player earns about $350,000 per season.
“The highest-paid players include Kagiso Rabada, Aiden Markram, David Miller and Temba Bavuma. Each earns around $350 000+ per year from the CSA, not even taking into account franchise and endorsement income,” the publication reported.
This equals roughly R5.7 million per season. Markram captains the T20 side, while Bavuma leads Tests and ODIs. Meanwhile, Miller provides explosive batting power for South Africa. Rabada also remains one of the world’s best fast bowlers.
However, this figure represents only their CSA base salary. It excludes match bonuses, incentives, and endorsement deals.

Men’s contracts
- Top tier: $350,000+
- Mid tier: $200,000–$250,000
- Base tier: $75,000–$145,000
Women’s contracts
- Top tier: $200,000+

Match fees remain equal for men and women. Players earn $4,500 for Tests, $1,200 for ODIs, and $800 for T20Is.
Proteas Cash In at the T20 World Cup
Meanwhile, the Proteas have already earned significant bonuses during the T20 World Cup. They collected R3.5 million from seven consecutive victories. Each win earned the team a R500,000 bonus.
