SASSA Announces February 2026 Grant Payment Dates
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that social grant payments for February 2026 will be paid out during the first week of the month, starting with older persons on Tuesday, 3 February.
SASSA distributes more than 19 million grants each month, providing vital financial support to millions of households across the country.

Payment Dates for Different Grant Categories
According to the agency, payments will be made in stages to avoid congestion at pay points and banking facilities.
The February 2026 payment schedule is as follows:
- Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 3 February
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 4 February
- Children’s Grants: Thursday, 5 February
SASSA noted that the Child Support Grant, Foster Care Grant and Care Dependency Grant are all processed under the Children’s Grants category.

Grant Amounts Remain Unchanged
Monthly grant amounts remain unchanged, with beneficiaries receiving R370 for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, while older persons aged 75 years and above qualify for R2,335 per month.
The agency said beneficiaries can access their funds through banks, SASSA cards, or approved retail outlets.
Beneficiaries Urged to Stay Informed
SASSA encouraged grant recipients to avoid sharing unverified information and to follow official platforms for updates, warning that false reports often create unnecessary panic and confusion.
They urged the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate information.
