“She’s Not Bad Luck” – Wicknell Chivayo Defends Mai Dhuterere, Reveals Why He Delayed Giving Mambo Dhuterere Car

Wicknell Chivayo refutes that Mai Dhuterere brings “bad luck”, explains why did not give Mambo Dhuterere car earlier

Business mogul Wicknell Chivayo has broken his silence over swirling rumours that gospel singer Mambo Dhuterere blamed his wife for bringing “bad luck” — including missing out on a car gift.

Chivayo, posting on social media on Friday, dismissed the claims and explained why he had delayed gifting Mambo Dhuterere a car, despite giving many local artists luxury vehicles in recent months.

“I wish to set the RECORD STRAIGHT,” Chivayo wrote in a lengthy Facebook post.

“I only held back from giving you a car because you had PUBLICLY stated that you were not EAGER to get a car from me as you had many other cars. I simply RESPECTED your position then.”

“I have always admired Mai Dhuterere”

Wicknell went on to strongly defend Mai Dhuterere, whose name has come up in recent reports alleging her husband left their home while she was heavily pregnant.

“I have always admired Mai Dhuterere as a strong, SUPPORTIVE WIFE and partner,” Chivayo said.

“She has stood by you from DAY 1, contributed to your music and mission and I recognize her as an integral part of your SUCCESS.”

He also dismissed any suggestion that she brought “bad luck” into the family, stating that such allegations deeply pained him.

“Chakanyanya kundirwadza however, is an allegation that you claimed your dear wife brought you ‘BAD LUCK’ because you didn’t receive a car from me,” he wrote.

“That’s FALSE. I only respected your earlier statement, nothing more.”

“May your union emerge stronger”

Chivayo took a more pastoral tone as he offered words of encouragement to the couple, whose marital woes have become the subject of public scrutiny and online speculation.

“From the depths of my heart, I urge you to find your way back to each other in full love and unity,” he said.

He drew from his own experience of a failed marriage to caution Mambo Dhuterere.

“I too have walked the road of a broken marriage… but I ALWAYS support [the mother of my children] and we cooperate… because that’s what responsible, MATURE co-parenting requires.”

“Be the example that even if clouds gather, zuva RICHABUDA CHETE,” Chivayo added.

He said he hoped the couple would forgive each other and “inspire countless other couples” through reconciliation.

Chivayo concluded his message by revealing that he had paid for two brand-new Toyota Fortuner GD6s for both Mambo and Mai Dhuterere, which are ready for collection from Faramatsi Motors in Harare. He also pledged an additional USD $150,000 between the two of them.

“Please go and see FARAI at FARAMATSI MOTORS… both your BRAND SPANKING NEW ‘WHITE’ TOYOTA FORTUNER 2.8 GD6 are ready for collection and fully paid for.”

“Come and see me TOGETHER and collect USD $50,000 for you Mambo Dhuterere and USD $100,000 for you Amai Dhuterere.”
