Sikandar Raza Reclaims ICC T20I All-Rounder No.1 Spot After Strong World Cup Start
Zimbabwe T20 captain Sikandar Raza has regained the number one position in the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings following a strong start to the ongoing T20 World Cup campaign.
The latest rankings update, released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), confirmed that Raza has climbed back to the summit, overtaking Pakistan’s Saim Ayub to reclaim the premier spot he previously held late last year.

Match-Winning Performance Against Oman
Raza’s rise comes after Zimbabwe’s commanding eight-wicket victory over Oman in their tournament opener in Colombo. The experienced all-rounder played a decisive role with both ball and bat at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground.
He returned economical figures of 1/17 from his four overs to help restrict Oman to 103 runs. Later, he calmly struck the winning runs to seal victory and hand Zimbabwe a confident start to their World Cup campaign.

Bennett Also Climbs Rankings
Raza was not the only Zimbabwean to make progress in the latest ICC update. Opener Brian Bennett also enjoyed a significant boost after his unbeaten 48 against Oman.
Bennett moved up two places to 19th in the ICC T20I batting rankings — a new career-high rating for the young batter. His performance further underlined Zimbabwe’s growing confidence at the global tournament.
Momentum at a Crucial Stage
Zimbabwe’s early World Cup success has translated into individual recognition, with Raza’s return to number one highlighting his continued importance to the team.
With momentum building and key players finding form, Zimbabwe will be encouraged by both their on-field performances and the global acknowledgment reflected in the latest ICC rankings.
