Six People Killed in Tragic Harare-Chirundu Road Crash, Police Investigate
Six people lost their lives in a devastating road accident along the Harare-Chirundu Road on Thursday afternoon, with police launching investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The fatal collision occurred near the 110-kilometre peg, close to Heroes Acre, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

Police Confirm Fatalities
In a statement, the ZRP confirmed that six people died in the accident but said authorities were still working to establish the number of people who sustained injuries.
Police added that more information would be released once investigations progress.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred this afternoon on 16/07/2026, at the 110 kilometre peg along the Harare–Chirundu Road near Heroes Acre, in which six people were killed. The number of injured victims is still to be established. More details to released in due course.”
Cause of Crash Yet to Be Established
Authorities have not yet disclosed what led to the accident or the types of vehicles involved.
The identities of those who died have also not been made public as police continue with investigations and the process of notifying families.
