Heartbreaking Claim Emerges As Nothabo Khumalo’s Family Breaks Silence At Funeral
The family of Nothabo Khumalo has spoken publicly about the pain they say they have endured following the deaths of Nothabo and her two young daughters, Natalie and Nala. During an emotional funeral service in Bulawayo, relatives said they were disappointed that the family of Ndodana Tshuma, who is accused of killing his wife and their children in the United Kingdom, had not reached out to apologise or express sympathy.
The comments came after the bodies of the three victims were returned from the UK and laid to rest in Bulawayo this week.
Khumalo Family Speaks Out After Nothabo Khumalo And Daughters Buried
Khumalo family representative Ntsika Dakamela said the family had expected an expression of remorse from the Tshuma family following the tragedy.
He said:
“The Tshuma family has not come to apologise to us. They were supposed to come to the gate, kneel down and say they were sorry, because what happened was not of their doing.”
Dakamela added:
“We don’t want people to speculate. We expected them to come, but they did not. They took it lightly.”
The bodies of Nothabo, Natalie and Nala arrived in Zimbabwe on Monday after being repatriated from the United Kingdom.
The three were found dead at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire.
Ndodana Tshuma Awaits South Africa Court Process
Authorities allege that Tshuma left the UK after the killings before he was arrested in South Africa following an alert issued by British authorities.
He is currently facing charges linked to the alleged illegal possession of a firearm in South Africa. Those proceedings are expected to be completed before extradition processes to the UK continue, where he is wanted in connection with the murders.
Family Calls For Justice Instead Of Revenge
Speaking at the same funeral service, Theophilus Khumalo urged relatives to allow the legal process to run its course instead of seeking revenge.
He said:
“This is a tragedy that has tested our faith. The manner of their passing has left wounds that only God can heal.”
He added:
“As the Khumalo family, we stand firm in our commitment to the truth, to justice and to dignity. We will allow the law to take its course. We will not be drawn to anger or bitterness. We will not allow this tragedy to define us.”
The case continues to attract attention in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom as legal proceedings move forward.
The funeral has marked another painful chapter for the Khumalo family, who say they are placing their faith in the justice system while mourning the loss of Nothabo and her two daughters.
