Role Overview
SNV is inviting applications for one (1) In-Field Training Support Consultant to support a Local Service Provider (LSP) in Murewa District. The consultant will assist in implementing project activities including youth mobilization, training facilitation, coordination, mentorship support, documentation, and reporting. This is a field-based role requiring close engagement with youth, community stakeholders, and partners.

About the Project
With the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Embassy of Sweden, SNV Zimbabwe is implementing Phase II of the Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (YEE) Project. The project targets out-of-school youth aged 18–35, offering pathways to employment and entrepreneurship in the agri-food, renewable energy, and emerging sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Support mobilization and facilitation of basic life skills training.

Facilitate technical skills development via internships, on-the-job training, demonstrations, or partnerships with private firms and TVETs.

Conduct youth savings and lending (YSAL) training and integrate youth into savings groups.

Assist in identifying, training, and onboarding youth champions and mentors.

Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.

Monitor and track LSP activity plans and contribute to progress reports.

Maintain regular physical presence in the district for on-the-ground support.
Candidate Profile
-
Degree or diploma in agriculture, youth development, entrepreneurship, development studies, or related field.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in youth-focused or community development projects.
-
Knowledge of and/or residency in Murewa District is highly desirable.

Strong facilitation, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
-
Proven ability to work independently and under limited supervision.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
-
Ability to ride a motorbike and own transportation is an added advantage.
