Susan Mutami’s 2025 “Save This Post” Tweet About Wicknell Chivayo Resurfaces After Fatal Helicopter Crash
A chilling 2025 social media exchange involving Susan Mutami and Wicknell Chivayo has resurfaced after the Zimbabwean businessman was reported among six people killed in a helicopter crash near Marondera on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
The post that has drawn the most attention was published by Mutami on 28 May 2025.
It followed a post by Adamski Jahman suggesting that Chivayo could suffer a heart attack. Mutami responded by directly referring to Chivayo and making a different prediction.
She wrote:
“He’s actually going to die in a plane crash. Save this post.”
Jahman replied that he had saved it. The exchange remained online for more than a year before the fatal crash brought it back into the spotlight.
Susan Mutami’s Old Tweet Goes Viral Again
Screenshots of the 2025 exchange began circulating widely on Wednesday night as news of the Marondera crash spread.
The timing is the central reason for the renewed interest. Mutami did not simply make a general reference to an unidentified person. Her post named Chivayo in the surrounding exchange and specifically referred to an aircraft crash.
There is also an important distinction. She wrote “plane crash”, while the tragedy reported on 30 September involved a helicopter.
The helicopter crashed in rural Marondera at about 5pm, with government spokesperson Nick Mangwana confirming that there were no survivors. Police initially said the aircraft had six people aboard and that the identities of the victims would be formally established.
Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, were among those killed. Police said the crash caused a fire and that identifying the victims was complicated by the condition of the remains.
The Reactions To Mutami’s Prediction
The resurfaced post has produced a flood of reactions. Some users have described the timing as extraordinary. Others have questioned whether Mutami had information that was not publicly known when she made the post.
Those reactions, however, are speculation.
The public exchange establishes the post’s existence and date. The post itself provides no evidence of how Mutami arrived at her prediction or that she had advance knowledge of a future crash.
Fresh reporting has also highlighted a separate exchange said to involve Chivayo himself, with messages from May 2025 resurfacing after his death. Those reports describe Chivayo responding to Mutami before eventually blocking her.
Who Is Susan Mutami?
Mutami has been a prominent and controversial figure in Zimbabwean social media for several years, particularly because of her public claims involving senior political figures and other prominent personalities.
In 2021, she publicly discussed an alleged relationship with the late General Sibusiso Busi Moyo, who became internationally recognised after announcing the military takeover on state television in November 2017 and later served as Zimbabwe’s Foreign Affairs Minister.
Mutami claimed she and Moyo had a long-term relationship and that he was her son’s father
She has also made other serious allegations involving Zimbabwean political figures, some of which were disputed or denied.
That background helps explain why her resurfaced Chivayo post has attracted such intense attention.
But the focus of Wednesday’s story remains the post itself.
On 28 May 2025, Mutami publicly told people to “save this post” while predicting that Chivayo would die in a plane crash.
On 30 September 2026, Chivayo was reported dead following a helicopter crash in Marondera.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
