Snake Bites TelOne Marshal During FC Platinum Match At Ascot Stadium
A female TelOne matchday marshal was bitten by a snake inside Ascot Stadium during the club’s Premier Soccer League fixture against FC Platinum on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
The marshal was on duty when the incident happened at the Gweru stadium. Reports said she was later taken to hospital for treatment and was in a stable condition.

DeMbare DotComs said:
“In an unfortunate incident at Ascot Stadium, a female matchday marshal was reportedly bitten by a snake during today’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture between TelOne FC and FC Platinum.”
The football platform later shared an update on the marshal’s condition.
It said:
“We understand she is stable and has since been rushed to hospital for medical treatment.”
The incident happened while TelOne were hosting FC Platinum in a league fixture at Ascot Stadium on 4 July.
Questions Raised Over Marshal’s Trip To Hospital
ZimLive also reported the snake bite and said the marshal had been taken from the stadium after the incident.
ZimLive wrote:
“A marshall was driven away in an ambulance at Ascot Stadium in Gweru this afternoon after being bitten by a snake. Victim reported to be stable in hospital.”
However, football agent Tate disputed the detail about the ambulance transporting the marshal.
Responding to the report on X, he said:
“The report is inaccurate, she wasn’t driven away in the ambulance.”
He claimed the ambulance at the stadium could not transport her because it was the regulatory emergency protocol vehicle assigned to the match.
“A secondary vehicle had to be arranged to ferry her to hospital several minutes later,” he added.
Ascot Stadium Snake Bite Leaves Marshal In Hospital
The available reports indicate that the marshal was stable after receiving medical attention.
