Zimbabwean hip hop artist Ti Gonzi has been sentenced to 10 months behind bars after being convicted on drug possession and traffic-related charges.

The 38-year-old musician was arrested on 2 February 2026 after police pulled him over for driving through a red traffic light at Mupedzanhamo.

During a subsequent search of his Mercedes-Benz, officers reportedly recovered dagga and bottles of Broncleer cough syrup.

Court Ruling and Sentence

Upon conviction, the court imposed a 10-month prison sentence, suspending two months on condition of good behaviour.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Ti Gonzi was fined US$100 for driving without a valid driver’s licence, along with penalties linked to three other traffic violations.

The ruling means he will serve eight months in prison unless the suspended portion is activated due to further offences within the stipulated period.
