Tsaka RSA Faces Backlash For Drinking Video With Underage Girls

Limpopo-based musician Tsaka RSA is facing a lot of backlash after a video, which has since spread like wildfire across social media platforms drinking with underage girls. The footage appears to show several school-aged girls consuming alcoholic beverages while in the artist’s company.

The controversy has drawn a swift and stern response from the highest levels of government. Deputy Minister for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Nokuzola Letsike, has publicly condemned the incident and confirmed that official action is being taken. She stated,

“We have involved the South African Police Service to investigate this matter thoroughly. It is a severe violation for an adult, particularly one with influence, to be complicit in the provision of alcohol to minors.”

The deputy minister emphasised that the artist’s celebrity status does not absolve him of his civic and legal duties. The public figure, whose real name is Paul Madubanyana, is no stranger to controversy, often making headlines for his fiery disputes with other artists in the music industry.

While the immediate fury is directed at Tsaka RSA, officials point to a much larger and more worrying trend fuelling the incident. Deputy Minister Letsike highlighted the devastating long-term effects of early alcohol exposure, linking it to a host of social ills.

“When our adolescents are introduced to alcohol, it disrupts their cognitive development and often leads to risky decision-making,” she explained. “This leaves them exposed to sexual exploitation, violence, and a lifetime of potential health issues.”

Research indicates that the average South African consumes approximately 10 litres of pure alcohol per year, a figure that significantly outstrips the worldwide average. Compounding this is a noted surge in binge drinking behaviours amongst high school students, with rural areas such as Limpopo being identified as particular hotspots for this dangerous activity.

The Deputy Minister has issued a clarion call for collective responsibility, urging parents, educational institutions, and the liquor industry to play a more active role in safeguarding children. However, her most pointed remarks were reserved for the artist at the eye of the storm. Letsike asserted,

“Public figures cannot use their fame as a shield while they actively contribute to the destruction of our children’s futures. There must be accountability, and it must be immediate and unambiguous.”

This is not the first time Tsaka RSA has found himself on the wrong side of the law; earlier this year, he was briefly detained by authorities for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
