Shocking US Document Claims Hit Ordered On VP Chiwenga

A leaked United States intelligence document alleges a sinister plot to assassinate Zimbabwe’s Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga. The secret file claims that a Belarusian-linked assassin, codenamed BEDROCK, was contracted to kill him. The shocking claims surface at a time when Zanu PF is engulfed in fierce internal battles over President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s succession.

A Classified File And A Codenamed Assassin

According to NewsDay on 17 October 2025, the assassination allegations come from a document marked Top Secret and URGENT. It is believed to have originated from the United States government.

The intelligence brief refers to Chiwenga by his liberation-war name, Dominic Chinenge. It describes him as:

“An astute Zimbabwean national and general . . . shadow head of the military and designated with Tier 5 credentials within the presidency.”

The report warns that his growing influence had “placed him in the centre of an aggressive ploy to assassinate him”.

Details in the file claim:

“BEDROCK, in the past three months, has been tasked with surveillance of active locality, surfing of the UAE [United Arab Emirates] and China platforms, communications and currently stands for command to activate active measures within plausible proximity.”

Internal Wars And A Treason Charge

The timing of the leaked allegations is significant. On 17 September 2025, Chiwenga submitted a dossier to President Mnangagwa demanding the arrest of several of his allies. These included businessmen Kadukwashe Tagwirei, Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya, Dilesh Nguwaya and Wicknell Chivayo. The Vice President accused them of siphoning billions of US dollars from the state.

Days later, the pushback was fierce. Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, also the Zanu PF secretary for legal affairs, went public, accusing Chiwenga of treason. The charge underscored just how bitter the succession struggle inside Zanu PF has become.

Payments And International Awareness

The report goes further, alleging that US$100 000 (about R1.8 million) was wired to a Jersey NatWest account. The money allegedly moved through an offshore trust instrument, AFTRADE DMCC Offshore Trust, which has links to Belarus. The payment was said to bankroll the operational phase of the assassination attempt.

In another disturbing revelation, the file claims:

“DNA and urine samples of ‘Chinenge’ have been collected and analysed to dilute possible counter-measures by Chinenge.”

The final pages assert that the Five Eyes alliance — comprising the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — is fully aware of the operation. It notes that BEDROCK had previous deployments in Iraq and Equatorial Guinea. A specific file reference is given: ZANUPF372921/08224CGNC.

So far, neither the United States, Zimbabwe, nor Belarus has commented publicly on the document. NewsDay reports that it remains classified under the US National Security Act of 2021.
