Former Zimbabwe Warriors captain Willard Katsande has given fans a glimpse of his musical side, joking about his resemblance to sungura legend Alick Macheso.
Katsande shared the playful message while highlighting his ability to switch identities away from football.
“Off football sometimes i can be MACHESO
Noweroooo”
His remarks quickly offered a humorous twist to his public image. Known for his tough tackling and fierce competitiveness, Katsande has now shown fans another side.
Katsande Channels His Inner Macheso
Macheso remains one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated musicians, renowned for his distinctive guitar skills and energetic performances.
Therefore, Katsande’s comparison immediately brings music and football together in an entertaining way.
The former midfielder built his reputation through discipline, determination and leadership on the pitch. However, his latest comment suggests football does not define every part of his personality.
By invoking Macheso’s name, Katsande playfully presented himself as a potential entertainer away from the football field.
His message also reflects the lighter side of Zimbabwean celebrity culture. Sports personalities regularly connect with fans through humour and unexpected interests.
Fans Get a Different Side of the Former Captain
Katsande earned recognition for his commanding performances in midfield and his leadership for the national team.
He also enjoyed a successful club career, becoming a familiar figure among Zimbabwean football supporters.
Nevertheless, his latest remarks shift attention from tackles and match results to music and entertainment.
Macheso’s influence stretches across generations of Zimbabwean music lovers. Consequently, the reference gives Katsande’s joke a distinctly local flavour.
The comment offers a reminder that public figures can have interests and personalities beyond their professional careers.
Whether Katsande can match Macheso’s guitar mastery remains another question entirely. For now, his playful declaration has provided fans with an amusing talking point.
One thing is certain: when football takes a break, Katsande appears ready to entertain in his own way.
