President Mnangagwa Shows Off Boxing Skills At Youth Event

President Emmerson Mnangagwa surprised crowds when he showcased his boxing skills during a public event in Harare. The lively moment was captured at the National Youth Symposium, where the Head of State toured exhibition stands.

According to the Sunday News, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 22 October 2025, drawing laughter and cheers from attendees.

“Lighter moments as President Mnangagwa showcases his boxing skills during a tour of exhibition stands at the National Youth Symposium that is currently underway in Harare,” the paper reported.

The video, shared on X by journalist Matthew Masinge, quickly spread across social media platforms, attracting reactions from Zimbabweans and beyond.

The clip showed President Mnangagwa throwing light punches while sparring with a boxing trainer and mimicking a boxer’s stance as he interacted with young people at the symposium. Dressed formally and with his trademark scarf in tow, the 83-year-old leader appeared animated, joking with onlookers while making the playful display.

Observers applauded the rare and jovial interaction. Some social media users highlighted it as a refreshing moment of humour in the middle of a packed event schedule.
