‘We met in 2018’: Black Coffee’s girlfriend finally tells it all

Black Coffee’s girlfriend, Victoria Gonzalez, has opened up about their first meeting. She revealed the details during his recent 50th birthday celebration in Cape Town. The Grammy-winning DJ, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, hosted a star-studded event. Celebrities like Somizi Mhlongo, Sizwe Dhlomo, and Tamaryn Green attended the celebration.

Victoria Gonzalez Reveals Their First Encounter

During her speech, Victoria shared how she met Black Coffee years ago.

She told guests: “I should probably confess something. I first met Nathi, back in 2019, no, 2018, actually, at a dinner table with friends

I had absolutely no idea who he was. And honestly, I’m very happy about that. Because I didn’t see the fame, and I didn’t see the legend. I simply saw a man. A man who made me laugh. A man with confidence and incredible style

Victoria, a Venezuelan model who is 21 years younger than the DJ, added: “Looking back now, I realise that was a gift, because I met Nathi before I met Black Coffee

“When two people are meant to find each other, something extraordinary happens.”

She explained that she connected with him before knowing his global fame.

Relationship Timeline Raises Questions

However, the timeline of their relationship has raised questions among fans. Black Coffee reportedly began dating Victoria in 2019. That same year, he announced his separation from Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa. As a result, many South Africans have questioned the overlap in timelines.

Meanwhile, Enhle Mbali has accused him of cheating during their marriage. Their divorce was finalised last year after a long legal process.

Recently, their split returned to headlines following a Constitutional Court ruling. The ruling addressed customary marriages and antenuptial contracts. Black Coffee stated he was never in a customary marriage with his ex-wife. His comments followed the court’s landmark decision on such unions.
