Wicknell Chivayo has gifted his younger brother Naison Chivayo his “old” Range Rover after a hilarious family moment.
The businessman shared the story online while congratulating Naison on receiving the luxury vehicle.
One comment changed everything
According to Chivayo, Naison had borrowed his 2024 Range Rover SV earlier this week. He used the vehicle to collect a senior banking executive from the airport.
The executive had travelled from South Africa for a courtesy client meeting with Chivayo. Their meeting lasted around two hours before the visitor eventually left.
However, Chivayo noticed something unusual later that evening. He spotted Naison returning with the Range Rover while heading out for his 9PM prayers. Chivayo asked why his younger brother had taken so long to return the vehicle.
Naison apologised before giving an unexpected explanation. He reportedly told his brother, “I’M SORRY MUKOMA…but ZI MOTA RACHO RINO NAKA IRI.”
The comment stayed with Chivayo despite his initial reaction. The following morning, Chivayo received a call about another Range Rover.
He learned that a brand-new 2026 Range Rover SV P615 Long Wheel Base was available. The vehicle reportedly cost US$550,000.
Chivayo then compared the new vehicle with his 2024 model. His older Range Rover had already covered around 12,000 kilometres.
Naison receives his “new old car”
Chivayo eventually decided to purchase the newer Range Rover. That decision also meant his younger brother could keep the 2024 model. He announced that the vehicle had now been registered in Naison’s name.
However, Chivayo removed his famous 777 number plates. He also revealed that he paid US$5,000 for replacement plates. In his message, Chivayo affectionately called the vehicle Naison’s “new old car.”
He praised his younger brother for becoming a hardworking and focused young businessman.
Chivayo also highlighted Naison’s role as a husband, father and businessman. He congratulated Naison and his wife Yolanda on their luxury family vehicle. Their new baby, affectionately known as “The Boss”, can now enjoy the executive rear seat.
Chivayo also thanked Naison for his contribution to the family’s annual Musangano Wegore. He said Naison’s commitment and effort had not gone unnoticed.
Finally, Chivayo wished his younger brother continued success, family happiness and God’s blessings.
His unusual gift turned a simple comment about a car into a memorable family story.
