His appointment comes just a day after the club shocked fans by parting ways with Tonderai Ndiraya, the man who delivered their historic Premier Soccer League title in their debut season.

Mapeza’s arrival was made possible through the involvement of Scottland benefactor Sir Wicknell Chivayo, who personally unveiled the coach on Thursday afternoon.

The event was attended by club president Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya and members of the executive, signaling the club’s confidence in its new technical direction.

Ndiraya Leaves After Title-Winning Season

The announcement follows Scottland’s statement on 26 November confirming Ndiraya’s exit. The club revealed that both parties had mutually agreed not to extend his contract beyond the 2025 Premier Soccer League season.

In the statement, Scottland said:

“Scottland Football Club wishes to confirm that the club and head coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, have reached a mutual agreement not to renew his contract, which concludes at the end of this season.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for his commitment, professionalism and service during his time with the club.”

Ndiraya leaves behind a remarkable record, including delivering the club’s first league championship in their maiden top-flight campaign.
