Springbok captain Siya Kolisi marked Father’s Day with a heartfelt Instagram tribute on Sunday, 21 June.
The rugby star shared a photo with his father, Fezakele Raymond Kolisi. He accompanied the image with an emotional message.
“Gqwashu 
Thank you, Without you I am not there ! Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers and father figure , ningadinwa! Nako bhuti malume, tanci, nocousin . Silaphaw nje ninj,” he wrote.
Rebuilding a Strong Family Bond
Siya was born in 1991 while his father completed his final year of school.
As a result, challenging circumstances shaped much of his childhood. His late grandmother, Nolulamile, played a major role in raising him.
However, Siya and his father later worked to strengthen their relationship. Over the years, they rebuilt their connection and grew closer.
Furthermore, Siya honoured his father’s journey through a meaningful gesture. He purchased a seaside home for Fezakele near Gqeberha.
Today, their story reflects resilience, forgiveness, and the importance of family bonds.
