You Are Toxic for South Africa”: Herman Mashaba Vows to Deport Zimbabwean Activist Rutendo Matinyarare in Fiery Posts

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has launched a scathing attack on controversial Zimbabwean activist Rutendo Matinyarare.

He threatened to have him deported if his party comes to power, vowing to prioritise Matinyarare’s removal and stating that he would be among the first to be expelled and permanently barred from re-entering South Africa.

Tensions Sparked by Criticism of General Mkhwanazi

The confrontation erupted after Matinyarare publicly accused General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of failing to tackle criminal elements within the police during his two decades of service.

The remarks drew widespread attention and criticism, prompting Mashaba to respond forcefully on social media.

Mashaba Threatens to Deport Matinyarare if ActionSA Wins Power

Responding to Rutendo Matinyarare’s post on X, Herman Mashaba described him as “toxic.” He declared that if ActionSA came to power, he would ensure Matinyarare was deported and never allowed to set foot in South Africa again.

“Rutendo, let’s be honest with each other.
You must pray to your gods that ActionSA doesn’t get the mandate from South African voters to legally get you deported.
I can assure you, in the event of ActionSA in power, you are going to be in the first batch of those to be deported, and never be given an opportunity to set foot in this country again.
You are toxic to be in our country.”

Calls for Mass Deportation

In additional posts, Mashaba doubled down on his stance, making it clear that Matinyarare would be targeted in a broader deportation campaign.

At the earliest opportunity, this Rutendo fellow must be in the first batch of those to be in the mass deportation program,” he posted

Mashaba further told Matinyarare to leave South Africa and express his views in his own country Zimbabwe.

“Go and freely exercise your freedom of speech in your own country.
Go and be as loud as possible.”

He reiterated that Rutendo Matinyarare is toxic for South Africa.

This fellow is toxic for South Africa.”
