ZANU-PF Begins Registration of All Vehicles Donated in Party’s Name
ZANU-PF has launched a new internal drive to regularise all vehicles donated in the party’s name, warning members and affiliates who received such vehicles to report them by the end of July.
A circular from ZANU-PF Secretary General Obert Mpofu was sent to all provincial chairpersons, department heads, and affiliate group leaders, outlining the new directive.

Mpofu said the party is acting in terms of Section 76 (4) and (5) of its constitution, which deals with the management and registration of party assets. The regularisation campaign, he said, applies to any motor vehicle donated to an individual or group in the party’s name, especially if it was done without proper authorisation.
“Pursuant to Section 76, Subsections 4 and 5 of the Party Constitution and relevant sections pertaining to the registration and management of Party assets, the ZANU-PF Party is embarking on an exercise to regularise the use and registration of motor vehicles donated in the name of the Party to either individuals or associations,” part of the memo reads.
Unauthorised Use of Party Branding Under the Spotlight
The memo singles out vehicles bearing ZANU-PF flags, logos or colours without proper clearance. It also mentions donations that were made without validation from the Secretary General, Treasurer General, or the National Secretary for Transport and Social Welfare.
Mpofu warned that anyone in possession of such vehicles must submit them for inspection and official registration by July 31, 2025. All vehicles are to be handed over to the National Secretary for Transport and Social Welfare as part of the audit.
“The regularisation exercise includes motor vehicles donated directly to individual Party members, Party organs structures without validation from the Secretary General, Treasurer General or National Secretary for Transport and Social Welfare, and motor vehicles bearing the ZANU-PF name, flag or symbols without express authority from the Party. Accordingly, those in possession of such motor vehicles are requested to submit these vehicles to the National Secretary, for Transport and Social Welfare for regularisation, no later than the 31st of July 2025. Please be guided accordingly,” the memo ends.
The party has not stated what penalties, if any, will follow failure to comply.
