ZANU PF has raised more than US$9 million through its inaugural President’s Ball, exceeding its original US$6 million target. The fundraising event aimed to mobilise resources for the party’s forthcoming conference.
The milestone represents US$3 million above the initial goal. Meanwhile, the event attracted attention through an auction featuring personal academic and professional memorabilia belonging to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa’s Personal Memorabilia Goes Under the Hammer
Among the auctioned items were several records documenting Mnangagwa’s academic and professional journey. These included the record of his 1975 graduation class at the University of Zambia (UNZA).
The collection also featured his dissertation and graduation certificate. In addition, bidders had the opportunity to acquire a framed photograph commemorating his admission to the Bar in 1976.
These items highlighted key milestones in the President’s education and legal career. Their inclusion formed part of the fundraising activities at the inaugural event.
Fundraising Surpasses the Initial Goal
The President’s Ball exceeded its US$6 million target by more than US$3 million. Consequently, the event raised over US$9 million for the party’s conference preparations.
ZANU PF organised the gathering to mobilise financial resources ahead of its forthcoming conference. The final amount surpassed the organisers’ initial fundraising goal.
The event’s proceeds mark a significant financial contribution towards the party’s preparations for the upcoming gathering.
