Semi-Final Clash Against Nigeria

In a statement, ZIFA announced that Zimbabwe will face Nigeria in the opening semi-final on May 26, while Jamaica will take on India on May 27. Both matches are scheduled for a 7:30pm kick-off.

The winners of the two fixtures will advance to the final, set for May 30, as the four nations battle for Unity Cup honours.

Return of the Unity Cup

The tournament returns to The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC, where it was previously held in 2004.

Over the years, the Unity Cup has grown into more than just a football competition, evolving into a celebration of culture and diaspora identity, bringing together communities from across the world.

ZIFA Hails Landmark Opportunity

ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi described the tournament as a significant milestone for Zimbabwean football.

The Unity Cup is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe football. It reflects our ambition to compete, grow and test ourselves at a high international level,” he said.

Team Ready for International Stage

Warriors head coach Marian Marinica welcomed the opportunity, saying it provides a valuable platform for the team.

This is a strong platform for us as a team and an important chance to represent Zimbabwe with pride on an international stage,” he said.

Captain Marvelous Nakamba said the squad was eager to rise to the occasion.

It is always an honour to represent Zimbabwe, and playing in London in front of our supporters in the diaspora makes this occasion even more special,” he said.

Call for Diaspora Support

ZIFA has encouraged Zimbabweans living in the United Kingdom and beyond to rally behind the Warriors during the tournament.

Tickets for the Unity Cup are available online, with prices starting from £18.
