Zimbabwe Cricket Team Stuck in India After T20 World Cup Amid Transit Delays

Zimbabwe’s senior men’s cricket team has been delayed in returning home from India after travel routes through the Middle East were disrupted.

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed that the squad remains safe following the conclusion of their campaign at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The team had been scheduled to travel back to Zimbabwe via Dubai, but the evolving security situation in the region has affected key transit corridors.

Constant Communication Maintained

ZC said it remains in close contact with both the ICC and team management members who are currently with the players in India.

Officials stressed that the welfare and safety of the squad remain the top priority as efforts continue to finalise revised travel plans.

Awaiting Further Updates

While no revised departure timeline has yet been announced, ZC indicated that further information will be shared once alternative arrangements are confirmed.

The delay follows broader disruptions affecting international travel in parts of the Middle East, complicating transit for teams and travellers using major regional hubs.
