Police Reveal Details Of Fatal Hit-And-Run Near Harare’s National Sports Stadium
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are appealing for information after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash along Harare-Bulawayo Road near the National Sports Stadium.
The fatal accident happened on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at around 9pm. Police said the man died at the scene after being struck by a motorist who allegedly failed to stop.
Police Seek Information On Fatal Harare Road Accident
The victim had not been identified when police issued the appeal on Saturday, 12 September.
In a statement published on its official X account, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said investigators were trying to establish the identity of the driver and the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Police said:
“Police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a fatal hit and run road traffic accident on 10/09/26 at around 2100 hours along Harare-Bulawayo Road near National Sports Stadium.”
The force added:
“A yet to be identified man died on the spot after being hit by an unknown motorist who did not stop after the accident.”
ZRP Appeals For Information
Police have urged anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could assist investigators to report to the nearest police station.
The appeal comes as investigators continue working to identify the vehicle and motorist involved.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police relying on information from members of the public to establish what happened.
