Botswana Court Hears How Zimbabwean Man Was Allegedly Caught With Human Body Parts
A 28-year-old Zimbabwean man has appeared before a Botswana court after allegedly being arrested with suspected human body parts in his bag. The case also involves allegations that he entered Botswana through an ungazetted border point.
Zimbabwean Man Faces Two Charges In Botswana
Nyasha Mugodzeri, from Phirinyane Ward in Shashe Mooke, appeared before Principal Magistrate Ditebogo Ntuli at the Francistown Magistrates’ Court on 15 September 2026.
He faces charges relating to illegal entry into Botswana and possession of suspected human body parts, which police described in court as male genitalia.
The case was brought to court after police allegedly received information about the suspected body parts.

Police Seek More Time For Investigations
Detective Constable Gomolemo Dickson told the court that investigations into the suspected body parts were still at an early stage.
He said police had not yet established where the exhibit allegedly found in Mugodzeri’s possession came from.
“The investigations are still at an early stage.”
The prosecution opposed bail, with Dithong Mpale of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions arguing that the allegation involved a serious offence. The suspected body parts have reportedly been sent for forensic examination.
Mugodzeri, however, told the court he intended to clear his name and would not abscond.
Zimbabwean National Remains In Custody
The court remanded Mugodzeri in custody pending a ruling on his bail application.
The investigation is expected to establish the origin of the suspected human remains and determine the circumstances surrounding their possession.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Mugodzeri remains accused.
