ZINARA Introduces Flexible Payment Plan For Vehicle Licensing Arrears

Zinara Flexible Licensing Payment Plan Ends December 2025

ZINARA has announced the introduction of a flexible payment plan for licensing customers who are in arrears. The new initiative, unveiled on 15 October 2025, is designed to help vehicle owners clear outstanding balances and penalties while keeping their vehicles licensed. Importantly, the authority has confirmed that the special offer is only valid until 15 December 2025.

Payment Plan Announced

According to ZINARA, the scheme targets customers who owe at least US$400 (about R7,200) in arrears and penalties, with a focus on those who have over five terms outstanding. Pensioners with arrears exceeding five terms will also qualify, regardless of the amount owed.

In a statement, the authority said:

“ZINARA is pleased to announce the introduction of a flexible payment plan option for our licensing customers who are in arrears and would like to start clearing their balances.”

The plan will run until 15 December 2025, after which motorists who have not joined will lose access to the facility.

How The Payment Plan Will Work

The arrears and penalties will be split into three instalments. Customers must also pay the current term’s licensing fee or exemption renewal alongside the arrears during each stage.

ZINARA explained the payment structure:

“In the first term, customers must pay their current licensing fee plus 40% of their outstanding arrears and penalties. The second term requires the licensing fee plus 35% of the remaining arrears, while the third term will clear the final 25%.”

Motorists who default at any stage will be disqualified and barred from returning to the plan.

Documents And Access

The offer is available at all ZINARA licensing offices nationwide. To qualify, customers must bring a copy of their ID, proof of residence, and the vehicle registration book in their name. If the book is not in their name, a valid agreement of sale must be presented.

ZINARA also reminded the public of its contact details for further information:

“Clients can reach our contact centre on WhatsApp number +263-772452776 or call our landlines. Email enquiries can also be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].”

The authority stressed that clients already on the flexible plan must continue to clear their arrears into next year, but no new applications will be accepted after 15 December 2025.
