Minister Mthuli Ncube Confirms All Forfeited Assets Are Being Integrated into National Treasury
Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has said all forfeited criminal assets are being integrated into the national treasury in line with the Public Finance Management Act.
This comes as Government moves to strengthen accountability in the management of recovered proceeds of crime.
Five-Year Recovery Drive Yields Results
More than US$200 million has been recovered in recent years, according to a report released by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ).
The assets were recovered during the 2021–2025 strategic period through court-approved preservation and forfeiture orders.
The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).
The recoveries form part of an intensified national campaign to strip criminals of illegally acquired wealth and redirect it toward public use.

Commitment to Accountability
Professor Ncube said while he could not provide details on the specific disposal or allocation of the assets, once transferred to Government accounts, the funds would be utilised in accordance with the law.
“I cannot give you details on that specific disposal process or usage, but you can be sure that once the funds are within the coffers of Government, they will be used properly in line with the Public Finance Management Act,” Professor Ncube said.
He emphasised that Treasury operations are subject to constitutional oversight by Parliament and the public, reinforcing Government’s commitment to transparency.
Fiscal Discipline and Economic Stability
The Minister noted that Zimbabwe operates under a cash budgeting system, meaning expenditure is aligned with available resources.
He said the integration of the recovered assets into the fiscus would be managed prudently, in line with Government’s broader economic management framework.
