South African Luxury Passenger Train Accident In Gwanda
The luxury Rovos train, carrying 47 international tourists on a Victoria Falls excursion from South Africa, collided with the BBR goods train in the Hantinya area just outside Gwanda. The freight train was travelling in the opposite direction on its scheduled route from Bulawayo to Beitbridge.

Several Tourists And Crew Members Injured Ferried To Gwanda Hospital
Gwanda’s emergency services quickly mobilised to the accident site. The local fire brigade successfully extracted trapped passengers from the damaged tourist train. Medical teams transported injured crew members from both trains to Gwanda Provincial Hospital for treatment.
The exact number of injured people is yet to be reported, and it remains unknown at the time of publication whether there are any fatalities.
Authorities confirmed that the tourist passengers did not sustain serious injuries in the collision. Rail transport officials are still investigating the exact cause of the accident, and concerns are being raised.
