Police are conducting a raid in Durban.
They’re searching for illegal firearms, hijacked buildings, and undocumented foreign nationals.
KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has described Durban as a den of criminals.
So far, over 120 illegal undocumented foreign nationals have been arrested and millions of fake US dollars confiscated.
Mkhwanazi says these raids are part of the mission to deal with hijacked buildings.
Ethekwini mayor Cyril Xaba says he is ready to stamp out criminality in the inner city.
He says undocumented foreign nationals must be swiftly deported.
But, Xaba admits one-off raids will not revive the country’s playground.
He says there must be follow-ups so criminals feel the might of the state.
