Missing InDrive Driver Found Dead in Warren Park, Friend Arrested
The Zimbabwe Republic Police have launched investigations into the murder of an InDrive driver who was found dead in Warren Park after initially being reported missing.
The victim, identified as Brian Nandana, reportedly vanished in the early hours of the morning shortly after completing an inDrive trip around 3AM.
What started as a search for a missing person later turned into a murder investigation after disturbing details emerged surrounding his disappearance.
Suspect Arrested After Attempted Escape
Police later arrested a suspect believed to have been closely acquainted with the deceased.
According to information gathered during investigations, officers were forced to fire warning shots during a tense chase after the suspect allegedly attempted to flee from law enforcement authorities.
After his arrest, the suspect reportedly directed investigators to a site in Warren Park where Nandana’s body had allegedly been buried in a ditch.
Fake Audio Messages Allegedly Used to Mislead Family
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect allegedly attempted to conceal the crime by creating and circulating fabricated audio recordings intended to mislead the victim’s relatives and friends during the search effort.
The alleged deception reportedly complicated initial attempts to trace the missing driver before police eventually made the breakthrough arrest.
Police Continue Investigations
Authorities are still working to establish the full sequence of events leading to Nandana’s death, while the suspect remains in police custody.
Investigators are also looking into allegations that the killing may have been linked to ritual purposes, although police have not yet officially confirmed the motive.
