Angel Zuma has reportedly dumped Umkhokha: The Curse for a role in the internationally acclaimed musical drama, The Lion King. The actress plays the role of Nomkhosi, the wife of Khulekani Mthembu on the SA soapie, but going international was a dream that has finally come true.
According to Zimoja, a source confirmed the event: “My friend has always wanted to go and work abroad. You don’t miss an opportunity of working in a production like The Lion King. It is every actors dream.
The producers were reportedly not happy as they were not ready to lose her, and are not in search of a replacement. They wanted to see more of her on the show because she performs it with aplomb,” said source. I am not sure how they are going to play out this one because she did not leave under a cloud.
