Suspected construction mafia members back in court

Five alleged construction mafia members are back in the Camperdown magistrate’s court in KwaZulu-Natal to apply for bail.

Their matter was postponed last week due to a power cut at the courthouse.

They were arrested last month for allegedly disrupting the building of a bridge in uMsunduzi.

Extortionists have been disrupting projects in KwaZulu-Natal, demanding either a stake in projects or protection fees.
