Kaizer Chiefs have switched their attention to the Toyota Cup after wrapping up their pre-season training camp in Spain.
Amakhosi spent more than two weeks preparing for the 2026/27 season against several European opponents. However, they returned home without recording a victory.
Their final fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat to Elche on Saturday. Despite the results, the tour gave the squad valuable preparation ahead of the new campaign.
New head coach Fernando Da Cruz also used the trip to closely evaluate his players during his opening weeks in charge.
Meanwhile, Chiefs have added only two new players to their squad so far. Nevertheless, more transfer activity is expected before the transfer window closes.
When will Kaizer Chiefs play in the Toyota Cup?
Chiefs now prepare for the Toyota Cup clash against Zimbabwean side Scottland FC.
The match takes place at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Sunday, 26 July. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00, with SABC 1 broadcasting the encounter live.
Importantly, the fixture will be Amakhosi’s final warm-up before their Betway Premiership opener against Kruger United.
It will also mark Da Cruz’s first official matchday preparations before beginning his league journey with the Soweto giants.
In addition, supporters will get an early glimpse of the coach’s tactical ideas. Fans will also see how the players have adapted during pre-season.
Chiefs finished third in last season’s Betway Premiership standings. They ended behind Orlando Pirates and champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Furthermore, Amakhosi return to the MTN8 after missing the previous two editions in 2024 and 2025.
Following the Toyota Cup, Da Cruz’s side will face Kruger United before taking on Golden Arrows.

Chiefs could start with Petersen in goal.
The defence may feature Solomons, Miguel, Moloisane and Cross.
Maboe, Ndlovu and Vilakazi are expected to operate in midfield.
Meanwhile, Velebayi, Duba and Silva could lead the attack against Scottland FC.
