Marvelous Nakamba closes in on European move

Zimbabwe captain Marvelous Nakamba could soon resume his European club career. Reports suggest Greek side Panetolikos want the experienced midfielder.

The Warriors star remains a free agent after leaving Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Consequently, several clubs have monitored his situation.

Greek publication Gazzetta reports that Panetolikos have intensified their pursuit. The club reportedly views Nakamba as a priority signing before the new season begins.

Panetolikos step up pursuit

According to Gazzetta, negotiations have reached an advanced stage. The Greek outfit hopes to complete the transfer during the current window.

“The report says negotiations between the two parties have reached an advanced stage, with the Greek side identifying Nakamba as a key target in the current transfer window.”

Although no official agreement exists yet, discussions continue to move in the right direction. Therefore, optimism remains over a successful outcome.

Fresh European challenge awaits

A move to Panetolikos would open another chapter in Nakamba’s career. Moreover, it would keep him competing in European football.

The former Aston Villa midfielder has already played in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and England. Greece would become the fifth European country of his professional career.

If the transfer goes through, Nakamba will also join fellow Zimbabwe international Tino Kadewere in the Greek Super League. That would further strengthen Zimbabwe’s presence in the competition.
