In response to the allegations, Ras Pompy has categorically denied any romantic involvement with his alleged friend’s mother. Through his lawyer, Dumisani Mthombeni, the 23-year-old musician issued a strongly worded statement on Instagram, dismissing the claims.

“Our client is 23 years old and does not befriend youngsters like Wesley. Ras Pompy has never bedded Wesley Shoniwa’s mother, as was published and alleged. The two have never been, and are not, in any love relationship. Shoniwa’s mother works with Ras Pompy’s mother, and he considers her a mother figure,” reads the statement.
