Harare EAT N LICK Outlet Robbed Of US$6,729 And ZiG279 In Break-In
A Harare fast food outlet has been left counting losses after a thief broke into the premises and stole more than US$6,000 in cash.
The incident happened at the shop along Chinhoyi Street in the Harare central business district, where the suspect allegedly gained entry before targeting the cash office.
The thief reportedly stole US$6,729 and ZiG279 after disabling security systems meant to monitor activity inside the premises.

CCTV cameras tampered with during break-in
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed that investigations were underway following the unlawful entry and theft case.
He said officers discovered that surveillance equipment at the outlet had been interfered with during the incident.
“Police are investigating an unlawful entry and theft at a food outlet along Chinhoyi Street,” Inspector Chakanza said.
“At the scene, details noticed that a CCTV camera installed in the cash office was not functioning and the one installed just above the office door was damaged.”
Police continue investigations
Authorities are now working to identify the suspect and recover the stolen money.
Police have urged businesses to strengthen security measures, including regularly checking surveillance systems and improving protection around cash storage areas, to prevent similar incidents.
