Fake Products Galore As Mbare Vendors Pack Bulk Rice In Mahatma Packaging

The scourge of fake products on the Zimbabwean market is causing a stir after Mbare vendors were recently seen packing bulk rice in Mahatma Rice packaging.

The incident occurred at Mbare Musika, Zimbabwe’s biggest trading market for vegetables, fruits and crops.

Mbare Vendors Fraudulently Pack Bulk Rice In Mahatma Packaging

In the viral picture, a vendor is sitting at his stall, which has several 50kg bags of rice packed in unlabeled sacks. On the ground to his left are multiple Mahatma packets into which he has loaded the bulk rice.

There was no scale to measure the amount of rice packed into each empty 2kg bag. The space in which the vendor did his hustle was unhygienic, and he did not care about practising any food handling safety procedures.

He left the 2kg packets of rice open on the ground while waiting to skillfully seal them and shun any possibility of suspicion.

Zimbos expressed unforgiving jest and, for some, disdain for the risky drama at Mbare Musika.

Millicent:

I bought Mahatma mutuckshop. At first I thought ndini ndatadza kubika 😂😂😂😂”

Lozikeyi:

But why are they not being arrested like literally all people trading in food are not licensed to sell why bebayekela kanti😩”

Benson:

“Ndakambotenga Cascade ndikafunga kuti kuda vakasara vachichinja kusvikira ndabvunza we Dairybord ndiye akazoti inogadzirwa mu Mbare.”

Lecroty:

“Mbare is literally making imitations of everything Mazoe, Cerevita even different alcohols sana Savanna ava kana Hennessey yaako futi.”
