US-Based Trainer Loses His Cool After Bulawayo Parking Marshals Clamp His Car
Bulawayo parking marshals were assaulted after a US-based Zimbabwean fitness trainer confronted them over a vehicle clamp, before the marshals later apologised for their conduct. The confrontation, captured on video, has since gone viral and drawn renewed attention to parking enforcement in the city.
Tendai Humbasha Maduwa, who is based in West Hollywood, California, returned to Zimbabwe for a holiday and says the confrontation happened on 22 August 2026 along Fifth Street in central Bulawayo.
Parking Marshals Clamp Car During Manoeuvre
According to ZiFM Stereo News, Maduwa was attempting to enter a parking area near the National Railways of Zimbabwe building when a marshal approached his vehicle.
Maduwa says he was still manoeuvring when the marshal told him:
“Please don’t drive, we have clamped your car.”
He says he questioned why the vehicle had been clamped while he was still trying to park.
Maduwa claims the marshal accused him of obstructing traffic. When he asked how, he says the response was:
“Mudhara we don’t care.”
The exchange escalated, with footage showing Maduwa grabbing two Tendy Three Investments (TTI) parking marshals and slapping them.
Marshals Later Apologise
Maduwa said three TTI supervisors later apologised and told him they would address the conduct of the employees involved.
He also questioned the safety of clamping a vehicle that was still being manoeuvred, asking what could have happened if he had reversed without knowing someone was behind his car.
Maduwa then offered to provide free training for the marshals.
“I am offering free sessions to help them do better in future and better still provide proper training.”
He said the matter was ultimately resolved amicably. TTI operates the parking system in Bulawayo’s central business district in partnership with the Bulawayo City Council.
